Characteristics: The Sarracenia Smoorii, more commonly known as the Trumpet Pitcher Plant, is one that can be utilised as a fascinating indoor plant. The plant is an unusual looking one, with the foliage forming in a tubular shape of bright green colour, which is joined by a deep red veining throughout. The long, vertical foliage adds a Fly Trapping aspect that is quite unique - it will decompose of small insects, which Smoorii lures inside the cup-shape which is formed on its leaves.

Plant Advice: The Sarracenia Smoorii is a plant which comes from a genus that appreciates higher levels of sunlight than others. It would be best to place the plant in an area where it can get plenty of sunlight. Smoorii will develop well in moist and swampy environments so, when you go to water the plant, make sure this is done well, with rainwater or low-limescale water being a better choice to go with than normal tap water.
